What is the JLDN National Lightning Observation Network?

We conduct accurate and reliable lightning observations in real-time, 24 hours a day.

JLDN (Japanese Lightning Detection Network) is a nationwide lightning observation network operated by Franklin Japan. It consists of 31 sensors from Hokkaido to Okinawa, creating an observation network that seamlessly covers all of Japan. [ZEROSAI Implementation Case] Preemptive Work Feasibility Assessment During Abnormal Weather Conditions

We will introduce the implementation results of the natural disaster prevention system "ZEROSAI." In Oita Prefecture, for mountain conservation work, we introduced the "ZEROSAI" disaster prevention panel, N sensors, disaster prevention lights, cameras, and power boxes to obtain pinpoint weather forecasts for pre-work feasibility assessments based on rainfall, strong winds, and temperature. As a result of the implementation, the objectives were achieved. Additionally, by utilizing "ZEROSAI," we were able to make pre-work feasibility judgments, conduct pre-evacuations during abnormal weather, manage mortar quality in low temperatures, and hold phone meetings with clients using live cameras. We will introduce the implementation results of the natural disaster prevention system "ZEROSAI." In the road improvement project at the Okinawa General Bureau, many processes cannot be carried out when it rains. Therefore, "ZEROSAI" was introduced for weather forecast-based process management and measures against rising body temperature. An electronic display board was installed in a location visible from anywhere on the large site to show temperature and humidity. Additionally, high-precision precipitation forecasts were used to review the processes three times a day. As a result of the implementation, not only was the weather checked at each process meeting, but emails were also sent when forecasts changed, allowing for a work process focused on efficiency and reducing work losses due to sudden rain.
